Window Fashion VISION Magazine: May/June 2024 | Volume 46 Issue 3

In the heart of Dallas, Texas, an industry member was driven by the ambition to merge the indoors with the outdoors, aiming for full visibility and immunity from insect disturbances. The prevalent mosquito menace in Texas spurred Teresa Williams of KJ Custom Screens & Outdoor Living in Frisco into action, with the objective of encasing the patio area.

This move was intended to foster an environment conducive to enjoying the outdoors without the nuisances associated with bugs. The solution involved the deployment of nine bespoke motorized screens, which were discreetly integrated into the architectural elements such as columns and specially made wooden boxes, delivering a refined and unobtrusive look.

The project’s success hinged on the selection of Phifer Tuff Screen, renowned for its optimal visibility and insect protection capabilities. The stunningly successful outcome of this project was made possible through a collaborative effort with Ellen Grasso & Sons Custom Homes, which was pivotal in realizing the client’s vision. The initiative featured the use of elite products like Universal Motion Screens, Phifer Tuff Screen and Somfy Motors. The investment for this state-of-the-art screening solution surpassed $50,000 for the screens alone, underscoring its value in enhancing the quality of outdoor living spaces.
