The International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE) was one of many live interior design events postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic. But rather than waiting until 2021 to bring window fashion enthusiasts together, IWCE’s organizers are moving the event online for 2020.
IWCE Virtual on July 29 and 30 will offer nearly all of the events window covering professionals appreciate about the annual live expo. People can visit exhibitors who were planning to be at the in-person show in Charlotte at their virtual booths instead. Exhibitors will share information about new and existing window treatment products and meet with people to answer questions and take orders.
Speakers will educate attendees on timely topics dealing with the reality of business today, such as pricing strategies, financial management, lead generation, attracting luxury clients, social media marketing and how to sustain a business during the COVID-19 outbreak. Presenters include LuAnn Nigara, host of “A Well-Designed Business,” the industry’s No. 1 podcast; Madeleine MacRae with MM MacRae Coaching and Consulting; interior designer, business coach and social media maven Melissa Galt; and Sandra VanSickle, founder of the “Mask America” Facebook campaign and organizer of this year’s Workroom Central.
The educational programming and links to exhibitor materials will remain available for 30 days to allow all participants access at their convenience.
“We believe IWCE Virtual represents a huge opportunity for our industry since we were not able to produce the live show,” said show owner and producer Grace McNamara. “While all of us are sad to miss seeing our industry colleagues in person this year, the virtual show will allow participation from a broader range of people around the globe. Attendees will have an incredible opportunity to see the innovative products and services that are available today.”
The main event missing from IWCE Virtual is the presentation of Window Fashion VISION’s annual Design and Workroom Competition Awards. A stand-alone ceremony to recognize this year’s winners will take place on Wednesday, June 24 at 7 p.m. Eastern.
