May 8th, 2018 – High Point, NC – On Wednesday, May 3rd, 2018 members and guests of the Interior Design Society (IDS) gathered in Savannah, Georgia to honor the winners of the 2017 Designer of the Year competition. The awards were presented by award-winning interior designer, Corey Damen Jenkins.
“The Designer of the Year competition demonstrates our commitment to recognize the outstanding work of our members nationwide” shared Jenny Cano, Executive Director, IDS. “This year we received a record number of entries, our award-winners consider it a prestigious honor.”
Award recipients were selected by an expert panel of judges that included: Robin Baron, Barclay Butera, Nicole Davis, Jane Dagmi, Richard Duncan, Nancy Fire, Serena Martin, Molly Mays, Jason Phillips, Natalie Reddell, Jennifer Wagner Schmidt and Jackie Von Tobel.
IDS also recognized the achievements of Bruce Knott, who was honored with the IDS Fellowship Award- the highest award given by the organization. Barbara Izzo and Nancy Ganzekaufer were both recognized with the inaugural Outstanding Leadership Award.
