What does it takes to be an EXPERT
Window Fashions Certified Professional?

Five years experience in the window coverings industry.

75 credits accumulated by attending WFCP events and seminars such as IWCE, WFCP Pockets and WFCP WEBinars. Credits can also be earned by completing any of the participation credits. Of the 75 credits, twelve must be in design and workroom and ten must be in installation. In addition to these, a member is required to complete four of the seven additional credits below to advance to EXPERT.

1. Write an article for the WFCP website, Style School, or submit photography for editorial consideration. This article can be on a wide range of topics related to the window coverings industry such as business and marketing, design, color, how-to’s or installation. Contact us for the submission guidelines to get started.

2. Participate in charitable endeavors or community service. A successful business is involved in some way with the community it serves and a true pro gives a little of themselves back. This credit can be earned through in-kind sponsorships, volunteering your time and energy to non profit organizations in your area, or performing pro bono design, fabrication or installation work for non- profits. Acting as a Docent at your local museum,or charitable show house or helping a shelter or agency spruce up their windows are examples of the kind of participation required to earn credit. Visit our website or call us for the guidelines and documentation.

3. Mentoring: Share your expertise with a member that is just getting started. Today’s technology makes it possible to coach someone thousands of miles away. Gain a great feeling of accomplishment by helping out your peers. Contact our office for more information about how to get started.

4. Speaking to peers or consumers: Participate in WFCP Forums or submit a Call for Presentation to be considered as a speaker. Speak on a window coverings related topic to community organizations, at home expos or to your customer base. Contact deb@wf-vision.com for more information.

5. Volunteering at WFCP events: We are looking for a few good people and our members definitely fit the description. Volunteer 6-8 hours of your time at IWCE. Contact our office for more information about helping us produce IWCE.

6. Participate in panels, research and focus groups for trade shows, webinars, associations or industry vendors. Call, write or email us for more information.

7. Create you own credit: Nothing listed above catches your interest? Then create our own credit. Submit your own credit application following our guidelines and you can earn one of the Expert credits you need.
